Julia’s quote resonates with our Tuesday Afternoon Cooking Class, because it is, above all, fun! Guests come together as a team to learn, create and have a joyful cooking experience. We introduce ingredients which some have never even heard of or seen, much less cooked with, expanding their perspective. Some of my students have very little experience in the kitchen, or claim not to like to cook. After class is over I think they change their minds.
“I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.” – W.C. Fields. Yes, we cook with wine as well, or beer, or a cocktail ;) I love to see everybody bond: acquaintances become good friends, couples discover an activity that brings them closer and they can do at home, people become inspired on what to make for their next get together, some discover their inner cook!
What I aim to transmit in my Cooking Class is that the process is more than just prepping and combining ingredients, it is a learning experience, a way to connect with others, liven relationships, experiment and take risks.
