Tuna Tartar is an exquisite blend of French technique and Japanese ingredients. This beef tartar adaptation takes the light, fresh components of Japanese cuisine for a refreshingly healthy dish. The smooth, firm texture of the tuna, tangy-sweet mango accents and buttery avocado are a delightful fusion of flavors. Plus, this no cook recipe uses 6 simple ingredients and is ready is 3 easy steps!
Ingredients: (serves 10) 3 large filets of fresh tuna, 2 mangoes , 5 avocados, juice of 2 limes, 3 tbs of cumin, dash of salt, cylinder mold.
Preparation: 1) Cut the avocado,mango and tuna into small cubes. 2) In a recipient, mix the tuna with salt, cumin and lime juice. Allow to marinate. 3) To serve, set the mold on a plate and fill with about a 1/3 cup of mango, pressing it firmly to form the bottom layer. Add a layer of tuna over the mango followed by a top layer of avocado, using the same procedure for each layer. 4) Slowly, slide the mold off to achieve the cylindric shaped Tuna Tartar.
Garnish with thin strips of mango peel for some extra bright color!
